Clint DeRatry

I wanted to draw more stuff from "A Rat's Empire", but couldn't decide on what to draw next. So I asked if she had any requests/suggestions (because so far, she's been my story's most enthusiastic follower). She said she wanted to see more of Clint. I think that was a good idea, since it forced me to work on his face, since all other pics I've done of him, I was never quite satisfied with how he came out. 

I am, however, much more pleased with how he came out here. A bit more like what I envisioned. The pose was inspired by a photo of Cary Grant from the movie "An Affair to Remember", which had some scenes in it that inspired some of how Clint met Charlotte: www.google.com/search?q=cary+g… (I have no idea what Grant is supposed to be sitting on, so I just improvised a little with Clint.)

The choice of the suits' coloring was to reflect Clint's wealth: green and gold are often associated with money, after all. Plus he's got a rose in his button-hole to signify romance, or more specifically, his romantic stature: he's handsome, kept himself in good shape, and is the 2nd richest rodent in all of Ratropolis (68 billion dollars worth). Plus, he's also mysterious; he came from an obscure background only to build up his own company for the Midreo Plant (a plant that is used to make milk, which is in turn used to make cheese; fitting for a rat, wouldn't you say? ), becoming one of the biggest success stories of the century. So of course Clint would have a lot of ladies pining after him.

Perhaps this pic is a photo for a business magazine or something of that kind. I can just imagine what Clint would say in the interview: 

"Can I help it if I made all the right moves at the right time with the right rodents? I mean, I've always been hard-working, but sometimes having the right connections and having a bit of luck can go a long, long way."
