Cludd Concept Art

Finally here's the concept art for Captain Cludd!

First of all: YES I REALIZE THAT HIS LEGS ARE SHORT COMPARED THE REST OF HIS BODY SO PLEASE DO *NOT* COMMENT ON IT! I WILL FIX IT AS SOON AS I START THE CHARACTER SHEET!

...ahem. Sorry, but I could forsee commenters continually saying how short his legs are, and I didn't want that, so... yeah. Heh, I didn't mean to make them so short, I didn't even realize it until after I had finished coloring. Bleah.

But anyway, yeah...

Now, as you can see, he is wearing the Kotir Uniform I designed. However, as you can also see, the trim on his tabard is black instead of green, but that's supposed to show his rank as Captain, more or less. Supposed to make him more impressive.

His arm braces are also silver, and he wears a tailring. I figured Cludd would deck himself out a bit, being the highest-ranking Captain in Kotir.

Hopefully he looks like a strong beast, because even though he is renown for not being too bright or too competent, I wanted to find some reason for why he was made Captain. (You might take notice of the quotes I put in there for fun )

Besides, as you may recall, he ends up getting into an amazing brawl with Skipper, and we don't really get many Redwall fights between two big guys (mostly its between a big guy and a much smaller guy: Cluny vs Matthias, Tsarmina vs Martin, Swartt vs Sunflash, Ferahgo vs Urthstripe, etc), so I decided to give him some bulk.

And also, Hethrin (who will be voiceing Cludd) kinda helped me out a little with this: I asked him if he wanted anything particular about Cludd, and he said maybe a reddish cloak. So I gave our weasel-friend (er, or is it enemy?) here a maghony cloak, and made it very long for when it'll be used to hide Ferdy and Coggs when they escape Kotir.

So anyway, yeah... any questions or comments? Feedback, critique?

And also... does Cludd look kinda cool? Because that's what I was aiming for, because he actually is awesomer than he's given credit for: it was he who captured Ferdy and Coggs; it was he who sent the vermin trio after Martin, Gonff and Dinny; it was he who raised the alarm during Gingivere's escape; he gets into an amazing brawl with Skipper; and has an epic death of *SPOILER ALERT* falling right on some otter javelins - which are pointed at both ends. Plus he's being voiced by Hethrin, one of the awesomest voice-actors I know, so... yeah.
