Visited my Granny
Yesterday on the 4th of July, my family and I went and visited my Grandma in the rest home. It was the first time I saw her in that place, and I gotta say, it's a *very* nice place. It's clean, there's beautiful grounds with trees and flowers, there's private rooms with their own bathrooms, there's a big main TV area, a cafeteria, a cafe and a restaurant. We ended up going to the restaurant to eat, where they were serving up barbecue: burgers with all the traditional fixin's (beef, cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, ketchup, mustard), hand-dipped corndogs, cauliflower spinach salad... yeah. Plenty of good stuff. My granda's been slowly settling into her new home. From what I've been told, she's tried escaping before, whispering to my mom and aunts about how she wants to "go home," but this time, Granny was going on about how she "works" there, helping out with gardening and whatnot. Since my granny has a bad hip and uses a walker, I doubt she actually does help with any gardening, but
Just an update
Just wanted to give an update on my life: Recently, within the past month, my family finally had to put my grandma, who's been suffering from Dementia, into an Assisted Living Facility. From what I've heard, it's a very nice place (very expensive too); even my sister, who's a nurse, worked at that placed once and vouched for its quality. They had to trick Granny into going, sadly. She's a tough old bird: married at 18, had her first child at 19, had 9 kids in total, took care of her husband when he suffered a brain tumor and babysat nearly ALL of her grandkids, Granny has spent most of her life working and taking care of others, so the thought of being taken care of and not working is nearly foreign to her. She's always been independent and stubbornly refused to leave her house (she'd leave for errands and visits, of course). So all of the aunts, uncles and my mom had to divide up their time, taking turns spending the day or night with her (and since my mom is the only one of
I saw 'Across the Spider-verse'
I just came back from watching "Across the Spider-verse" and my oh my, what a thrill-ride it was! It was a pretty busy film, filled with action, laughs, scares, drama, romance, sacrifice, loss, heroism, etc... pretty much all that you can ask for from a Superhero Movie. Oh gosh, that last minute twist... I had heard about it, but decided not to spoil myself, and oh boy am I glad I didn't! :faint: I had heard people talking about it, and now I know *why*. And now we all have to wait for the next Spider-man movie: "Beyond the Spider-verse." I shall happily await.
My Vegas Vacation
Okay! I've finally rested up enough from last week's vacation to tell you all about it. Let me just say... it was the *worst* vacation I have *EVER* gone on. :giggle: But don't get me wrong: it wasn't the worst because it was bad. There were actually plenty of good things that happened. But it was overwhelming and stressful. That's what made it bad. Here's how it started: Last Monday morning, we were all up and ready, with everything packed and locked up, with the cat set firmly outside (a cousin of mine was going to come by twice a day to feed her). I had already bought a new small suitcase to act as a carry-on, because I didn't want to deal with baggage claim. My sister and her husband, however, had huge suitcases; my sister's in particular was the biggest of us all. :XD: So it was baggage claim for them! Originally, we were going to drive one of our own cars to the airport and leave it there, but a couple weeks prior, my mom had a taxi ride, and the driver encouraged her
