Villa DeRatry F1

[edit: I ended up making the indoor pool, the conservatory, and the kitchen bigger because I thought the old versions were too small. And I added a doorway between the billiard room and the conservatory, and a second terrace on the side of the house.]

Behold! The floor-plan of the first floor of Villa DeRatry! 

I must get this out of the way first: the basic idea is for the mansion is to look like a maze. Its residents are rats, so... you see where I'm going with this?  

The main inspiration for Villa DeRatry was the Spencer Estate from the "Resident Evil" video game series. I always loved the layout of the mansion from the first game; it was what inspired me to go for the "rats living in a maze" thing. Only the DeRatrys have the luxury of not having to share their residence with zombies, monsters, or death-traps. All they have to contend with are jealous spouses, bitter exes, warring siblings, uppity servants, gossiping high society visitors, etc...

I had already made something like this, but I ended up hating it, because the whole thing looked just too complicated and uncomfortable. I asked myself, "Who would want to live there?" Thankfully, after seeing a floor-plan of the mansion from the game "Clue", I became inspired and created a much better version. I think the way how it looks now is simpler, easier to imagine people living in it. 

Sure, its on the large side, but Clint likes it that way, because it forces him to keep in shape as he treks from one room to another. Besides, he hosts a lot of parties to vast amounts of important rodents, so its good for his home to have an abundance of space.
